Artist's Statement:
Born in Alabama and a lifelong resident, I have been sewing since I was seven years old and making quilts for almost twenty-five years.
Left brain: I hold a BS degree and half an MS - geology major, minors in psychology and computer information - and worked in civil engineering for 15 years. My husband says he doesnt mess with any woman who carries a rock hammer and wears steel-toed boots.
Right brain: I am a published writer and self-taught artist who has been making quilts since the mid-1970s and has owned a private design studio since 1997. My art quilts are in collections from Maine to Florida to Nebraska to California.
Spirit: I paint and stitch images that come from within. I share them with the world and hope that others find a reflection of something good. And I teach in order to give back some of the gifts that I have been given.
I am centered.
I am happy.
Above all, I am blessed.
